Ovals
For Purcell, the Oval represents the concept of World Making, and is a central symbol in Organon 9 Worlds. It is linked to the circle and the concept of a full cycle, but less perfect
- some how more obtainable. Also associated with an ellipse, the egg, the third eye, oval nimbus, Bombyx Mori and a Locust leaflet.
Each Oval is made of fabric from Purcell’s extensive ‘Fragment Library’ and can be used as a platform for esteemed objects, a place to pin tiny notes, or as an art object.
Materials: Vintage fabric, felt, vintage paper, archival board
